With Parents

Chinese New Year

Usually, it is the first festival of the year celebrated at Yorkland. Parents are invited to enjoy the children’s performance of poems, songs and dance. Chinese New Year snacks like kuih kapit, tee kuih, kuih bangkit and mandarin orange together with homemade snacks made by the children themselves are made available. In addition, Yorkland teachers would also be performing a special act depicting the festival.

Harvest

Harvest festival is a celebration to appreciate food crops and its fruitful reap. Children offer their thanks to mother nature through their performance and singing. For the day, the teachers and children will decorate the display corners with fruits and vegetables. Snacks with home made bread are served before the puppet show by teachers relating to the harvest and thanks giving.

Mooncake

At Yorkland, mooncake festival is indeed a special one, as it is the only festival celebrated in the evening with our children and their family in our garden. The evening is graced with the singing and performance of our children adding on serving of our children’s specially made mooncake. To conclude the evening, we would all light up and walk around the Yorkland area carrying again our children made lanterns.

Graduation

A memorable day for our 6 years old children before they step out to their Year 1. A class celebration for the graduation children with presentation of poems, songs, drama and speech is held. The parents of the graduation children will be attending this day and also get to share their memories and experience of their child’s days in Yorkland.

Christmas

At Yorkland, we celebrate this festive of joyful bells with the theme “Kindness and Sharing”. As part of our Christmas festival, we encourage the children to reflect on the unfortunate situation of other children, i.e. orphans, those who are sick and hungry, etc. In encouraging them to carry a kind thought for them, we hope to lead the children to kindle their inner light and experience the warmth and joy of giving and sharing.
